Kia ora Jarrod,

Thanks for your response. I think it is clearer to me now.

This, really, is just another example to reinforce the rule that an English translation should be provided.

We have been told that all the following `goodbyes' - Noho mai rā, Noho ora mai, Noho ake rā, E noho rā, Hei konā rā, Hei konei rā and Noho iho rā - are said to someone who is staying. However, how do we know which to use, and when is it appropriate to use it, if we don't know the meaning?

Just posting this here for management's information (as Jarrod will, hopefully, explain in the other thread). ;)

I just thought it might be a good idea to have a place where `suggestions' can be posted:

I'm probably just wishing out loud here (as a pākehā who is trying to get their head around the Māori language) ;) but it might be a little easier if there were separate episodes for some terms and then combine them all in the same episode the following week. (especially as we are getting into things like the ā and ō concepts now)

That way, instead of stumbling over the correct use of tōku, tōna, ōu, āu, tāna, āna, ōku, ōna, tōu etc (all jumbled together in assorted sentences in the same week) the absolute beginner would grasp the possessive nature of the words quicker (if each term had an episode or two dedicated to it).

It would mean the series would be a bit longer but hey, that's not a bad thing, is it? :D .

Would be good if they uploaded all episodes, have been waiting 2 months for 91 to 99

kia ora
is this where we can write suggestions? just want to say thanks for this series - i watch every night after dinner! and then when i watch other programmes, i now hear words i know. sometimes i can work out the sentence by looking at the subtitles and i love it, it`s great!

im having a bit of trouble with remembering vocab this series. i think it`s because when new vocab is introduced there is a video played rather than just a picture. i only get to see the word for about a second and it makes it hard. it was much easier to try to remember the word in the first series, when there was no talking and the word was on screen for a bit longer i think.

everything else is great...thanks again!
